There’s nothing to be afraid of. We’re just saying goodbye.

And I’m a little mean to people who are dumb. And most people are dumb.

He's still Phil, and we love him. He was an important part of our congregation and one of the things we need to do is make sure we communicate to him that he's still a part of the congregation - regardless of what's happened.

We didn't know that he had bi-polar but it's true of anyone with mental health issues that when they're being managed, they do not talk about it. So it caught all of us by surprise. But when we look back on it, his behavior did change. It became erratic.
